Our Staff

Poppyview Family Centre has been set up as a charity, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation.  We have a Board of Trustees that are responsible for the management of Poppyview Family Centre.

Heather Auld is our Centre Manager. Heather has overall responsibility for the Centre and oversees the strategic functions of the centre. She organises and ensures that the centre is maintained in keeping with the law and government legislations pertaining to child care. She manages and supports staff, and makes sure the Centre offers a safe and caring environment for children to develop and learn.

We also have a Deputy Manager who has overall responsibility for day to day operations:

Lisa Winters Deputy Manager - You will find Lisa throughout the centre where she will be supporting the staff in working within the relevant guidelines, to help achieve the best outcomes for all.

We have two Centre Administrators in our Office, Michelle and Nichola who will all be able to help you with your queries regarding payments, session availability and extra sessions.  They will provide you with information regarding our provision.

We have 33 Early Years Practitioners and 3 casual staff who are selected very carefully, not only for their qualifications and experience but also for their love of children.  We understand that continuity of care for the children is paramount and for that reason we are totally committed to promoting staff loyalty.  The majority of our staff have a level 3 qualification or above in childcare, we also conduct ongoing training as a mixture of short refresher courses as well as full SVQ Childcare programmes for trainee staff.  As an ongoing aim, we are looking to promote higher education amongst our staff and to that end we will be encouraging some of our team members to enroll on the Childhood Practice Degree.

All our staff are registerd with SSSC and obtain a first aid qualification within six months of appointment.

Our staff to child ratios are guided by Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland regulations.
